Autumn in South Africa is the most beautiful seasonal change everybody is looking forward to. We’re starting to change our wardrobe for the winter days to come, so why not make some changes to your home as well.
HERE’S FIVE USEFUL TIPS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN
REDECORATING FOR AUTUMN:
MAKE USE OF MIXED METALS
Use rich tones for key pieces, mixed with warmer tones of ochre, rose, bronze and gold. Metals are trending everywhere this year. It’s a natural element and when used right, can bring a lot of character to your home.
BROWN IS THE NEW GREY
Warmer than grey, softer than black and stronger than white. After nearly five decades, brown and its entire colour scale will be making a comeback. At Incanda we have a beautiful range of ginger leathers to choose from for your couch.
MAKE USE OF RUGS
Rugs are a wonderful way to add texture to a space. They visually define and finish a room, while adding comfort and warmth. You can layer one rug over the other for added texture and personality. You can even layer your rug with a Nguni skin, available at all of our showrooms.
Lights have become more and more over-sized. Make use of big and bold standing lamps, pendants made from metals and natural woven elements.
Also make use of warm white light LED bulbs, for a softer and more cosy light.
Add more scatter cushions! Make use of different textures and sizes on your couch. This softens and warms a room instantly and gives a good sense of comfort. These custom-made, autumn themed scatter cushions are made of eco-friendly fabrics from Hertex. They’re available in all our showrooms.
